Fulltext PDFDirect laryngoscope and videolaryngoscope are the dominant endotracheal intubation tools. Styletubation technique (using a video-assisted intubating stylet) has been demonstrated the advantages including shorter intubation time, high first-attempt success rate, less stimulation, and high operator’s satisfaction. Like many procedures, there is a learning curve to master the technique of styletubation. Special attention should be paid to conditions such as space-occupying lesions, secretions/blood, stiff neck, restricted mouth opening, etc. In this clinical report, we present the effectiveness and efficiency of routine use of the styletubation technique for tracheal intubation in various ear-nose-throat surgical procedures.
